Privacy Policy
In short: Minutro doesn't collect any personal data. Your recordings, transcripts, notes, chats and saved voices are created, processed and stored only on your phone. We have no servers that receive them, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
This policy explains how the Minutro app for Android ("Minutro", "the app") handles information. Minutro is made by Realmbit, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Realmbit", "we", "us"). If you have a question, write to apps@realmbit.com.
1. What stays on your phone
Everything you create with Minutro is stored in the app's private storage on your device and processed by AI models that run on your device:
- Recordings: audio you record with the microphone, or audio and video files you choose to import.
- Transcripts, notes and chats: the text the app writes from your recordings, the questions you ask about them and the answers.
- Speaker names and saved voices: the names you give to speakers and, if you use voice recognition, a numeric "voice fingerprint" for each person you name (see section 3).
- Settings: your choices in the app, such as models, templates, vocabulary and export folders.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else by the app. We can't see, access, recover or delete it, because we never have it.
Android's automatic cloud backup is switched off for Minutro, so this data isn't copied to your Google account either.
2. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Microphone | To record audio when you start a recording. Recording only happens while a recording is in progress, and Android shows that the microphone is in use. |
| Notifications | To show recording controls and the progress of transcripts and notes. |
| Foreground services | To keep recording and processing while the screen is off or you use other apps, and to download models. |
| Internet | Only to download AI models and to make purchases through Google Play (see section 4). |
3. Voice recognition
When voice recognition is on (Settings → Voices) and you rename a speaker in a recording, Minutro saves a voice fingerprint under that name: a list of numbers that describes how the voice sounds, made by an AI model on your phone. In later recordings, Minutro compares the speakers it finds with your saved voices to suggest their names.
- Voice fingerprints are created only when you name someone, stay on your phone and are never sent anywhere.
- You can see every saved voice in Settings → Voices, rename it, forget it, forget them all, or switch voice recognition off.
- Voice fingerprints are included in backup files you create (section 5).
- Some laws treat voiceprints as biometric information. Only name people who have agreed to it, and forget a voice if the person asks you to.
4. When the app uses the internet
Downloading AI models
The first time you set up Minutro, and whenever you choose another model, the app downloads model files from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), a service that hosts AI models. Like any web request, this tells Hugging Face your IP address and that a file was requested. No recordings, text or other information about you is sent. Hugging Face's handling of these requests is described in its privacy policy. Once the models are downloaded, Minutro works without an internet connection.
Purchases through Google Play
Minutro Premium is bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment and your payment details under Google's privacy policy; we never see your card or account details. The app asks Google Play on your phone whether Premium was bought. Google gives us, as the seller, the order information it gives every developer for accounting, refunds and tax, such as the order number, date, product, price and country. We use it only for those purposes.
Nothing else
Minutro contains no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking software, and it doesn't send usage statistics.
5. Data you choose to share
- Export and share: when you share a note, transcript or audio file, or save notes to a folder such as an Obsidian vault, it goes to the app or folder you choose. What happens to it there is governed by that app or service.
- Backups: a backup is one file with your recordings, transcripts, notes, settings and saved voices, saved where you choose. Backup files aren't encrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.
- Email: if you write to us, we receive what you send and your email address, and use them only to reply. We delete support emails when they're no longer needed, at the latest two years after the conversation ends.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can delete recordings in the app, and forget saved voices one by one or all at once in Settings → Voices. Uninstalling Minutro deletes all of its data from your phone, except files you exported or backed up elsewhere.
7. Security
Minutro stores your data in its private app storage, which other apps can't read. Protect your phone with a screen lock: anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app.
8. Children
Minutro is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don't knowingly collect information from children; in fact, the app doesn't collect information from anyone.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California give you rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, and to object to how it's used. Because Minutro keeps your data only on your phone, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. For anything else, including information about emails you sent us, write to apps@realmbit.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how Minutro handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. If an update starts sending any data from your phone, the app will ask you first.
